Tons of .40 round here. Just nothing else.

Oh maybe a bunch of .22

Lets just hope the manufacturers catch up.

Personally, I think the manufacturers have stockpiled a bit over the last few months. Reason I think is because they've had some trade shows and they have to provide for retailers a definite amount this year.

I go to shows too and have to commit to buy a certain amount. I suspect its just a matter of time till we see the shelves stocked again.

My Wal-Mart is out of brown sugar and apple juice, but they do have ammo:-)

Kmart has an entirely untouched inventory of hunting ammo. 270, 30-06, 30-30, 7mm Rem Mag, and 300 Win Mag, and every shotgun ammo you can think of. They try to sell it for 2-4 $ per box more than Wal-Mart across the street. I wonder if they realize why they don't sell any???

Anyway, I'm waiting for them to put it on after season clearance like they did last year.

My local Super Wal-Mart has been out of .22LR ammo since before Christmas and was still out today.
A couple of days ago having nothing better to do,I went to 5 different Super Wal-Marts in 5 different cities and they were all out of .22's as well.

No brown sugar!? No apple juice!? Sound the alarms & run for the hills!!!
I'm not buying into the hype (yet). I'll be hitting the local gun show this weekend (the good one, not the "Rambo-Show") and I'm sure that I will not walk away empty handed.

Folks, I got this from Wal-mart Ammo Stock Dwindling and it appears to have been a vanity post. I'm sorry. There is no link for a concrete source. I messed up. Still, some here are listing spot shortages so MAYBE there is something to this. But right now this seems to be a "Pssst! I heard from a friend of a friend of a friend.... Very RELIABLE .... that this IS the real deal...." kind of information post.

Walmart Ammo

The Walmarts by us are out of ammunition. They had one box of 38 special and a couple boxes of .40. They said the supplier is back ordered.. This is in Texas. Anyone else have the same problem?

It's the same in South Ga. I tried to get some .45 while I was shopping last night with no luck.

In central VA, our Walmart is out of a lot of ammo. I asked the lady at the counter and she said that the warehouse was out as well. I've heard ideas anywhere from they're reducing stock in case Obama makes ammo tough to offload or that they're slowly backing out of supplying ammo. I stopped by a local gun store to purchase the remaining rounds to break in my new Kahr + a little additional + some defensive ammo.

I think people are panic buying, which is causing stores to run out of supply.

As soon as things settle down, the supply should be able to catch up.

Like many others on this forum, I always keep a thousand rounds or so of target pinking ammo, on hand, so I don’t worry about it.

Our WalMart get ammo shipments in everyday. However not a lot in each shipment and they sell out very quickly.

Last friday our church had a range day and one of the men were trying to find .22 ammo and Walmart was completely sold out. They had a small amount in on Saturday and Tueday they had 2000 rds of .22 ammo. They are also getting small amounts of other pistol and rifle ammo but it goes fast.

Even 30-30 Ammo they can't keep in stock. The most I have seen on the shelf is 3 boxes at one time.
