Went to the local Walmart today to pickup some .22cal, all they had was Xpert at $18.95 per 500 or Federal at $25.90 per 500, so I asked the lady for the Xperts and a box of 12ga heavy game loads. I also put on the counter a package of little water guns for my daughter (Her first gun!! ) The lady looked at them and looked at the ammo and said with a smile: "I don't think those will work with those guns" I burst out laughing as I had not thought about it. I said: "That explains a lot!" We both had a good laugh, quick glance at my PAL (firearm Licence) and I paid for the stuff, she gave me a very nice smile, she was an attractive Filipano lady and if I was single I would have asked her out.

Had to travel to central Wisconsin on business this week and found a box of 100 WWB .40's and a box of 50 Remington .380's at 2 different rural area Wal-Marts.

No problem when I informed the guy at the Eau Claire airport check-in counter. He put zip ties on my checked bag zippers and a sticker on the outside of the bag,"TSA inspected".

There's a buyer's limit at my local Wal-Marts. Different limit at different Wal-Marts. I got 6 boxes today (3x9mm, 2x 223, 1x 40 S&W), just because that was the max per customer for one day.

Here in the Fort Worth area, our Walmarts are almost always out of ammo for handguns. They get small shipments in that sell out very very fast. One day, my husband called 25 Walmarts. They were all out, but some were expecting shipments. He got to one at 7am and bought the limit of 3 boxes and that about cleaned them out. There is usually a limit of 2 or 3 boxes. We have not seen any 9mm hollowpoints at all. Mostly target ammo. We have been stocking up. At least the prices are still reasonable compared to what they were asking for ammo at the Fort Worth Gun Show a few weeks back--Holy Cow!

Found some

Local walmart has 16 boxes of 40 s&w, and I bought none. Why? Because I dont need to hoard all the ammo!

That just means the guy behind you was able to buy all of it. Seriously.

Did not mean to imply I am hoarding ammo in the previous post. We don't have enough ammo for a good day at the range. We just bought a couple of guns and did not have any ammo for them to practice with or carry. In trying to find some, we were shocked at the prices and difficulty in getting it. Since Walmart is the only reasonably priced place, we get the two or three boxes allowed every week or so. Being new to CHL, we need practice and planning on taking classes. The ammo we have been able to get will sure go quick. With all the trouble everyone is having, I would not buy up some ridiculous amount. The next guy may need it a lot worse. Sorry if I made some think I am stockpiling like a survivalist.

Hoarding AMMO!

I went to a large gun show yesterday and saw people with shopping list for ammo supplies. One guy had to get a two wheel dolly to move the ammo he purchased so much:

He a over 5000 rds of 5.56 and 3000 rounds of 45 ammo and was still getting more when I left.
