I've been hearing people say that for months, and it's getting worse not better from my point of view. I've been to 5 WM's (3 regularly), 2 Academy's, and a Bass Pro over the last two months. I realize that's nothing compared to the search efforts of many other people.

They have all virtually had no hand gun ammo. Not only is the shortage not over, I guarantee you with the crowd of people I see standing in front of these empty shelves every time I come in, we haven't even touched the pent up demand. People are becoming more and more frustrated, not less and less. I see it every time I check the shelves. I think this shortage is going to be around for a long long time.

I am begining to agree as the WW and Sportman Warehouse here is Southern AZ are out of everything, everytime I check.

If you want to pay a lot higher prices then some of the gun store have ammo sitting on thier shelves,

As much as I want to subscribe to all of the aluminum foil hat conspiracies and the "government is out to disarm us" theories I have to believe this whole thing is opportunists in our own ranks out to take us for every penny they can. You don't stock up .380 ammo and .38 special ammo to fight a revolution! I have also talked to lots of gun store guys and Walmart people and the sale of the guns don't match the complete absence of ammo. Our own people are hurting us.

I know this will be rebutted with " wjh2657 is a Brady liberal commie socialist pig" answers but I think those are coming from the very people that are literally screwing us. If the hoarder/opportunists would back off for one month I really believe we would all have the ammo we need.

Stopped at Walmart yesterday to pick up some stuff and I thought I'd go back and buy some ammo, any ammo, in one of five different calibers. I left with a case of diet Coke.

I can't get through 60 pages of posts (my eyes will start to bleed), but has anybody pegged actual production numbers from the major manufactures? Not profit numbers, not we're working 24/7 but real numbers of ammo produced. The other thing, were is the ammo going ? How much to the military, how much to LE, how much to the normal channels to the consumer?
Sure i've bought more ammo ( all online) in the last six months then i did all last year. Do i consider myself a hoarder, no, i consider myself "just being prepared".
Also, i don't have a aluminum foil hat but if anyone has an extra i'll take it. Damn pesky aliens.

Didn't see any 6X6 Army trucks picking up ammo from WM, didn't see Police vehicles packing ammo in back either. But I have seen pickup trucks loading up with lots of heavy WM bags at 0700 in the morning. (I always seem to arrive right behind them, too late to score on ammo) Ammo is coming in, it is getting picked up by Civilians as fast as it comes in. I don't know all the particulars but I just don't buy the government conspiracy crap. This is not a military, government or LEA grab, it is people out to make their own market.
Let's set the record straught, I voted for McCain last election and I am about as far from a Liberal as you can get but I am tired of the game being played by people who are doing their darnest to deprive ammunition from the rest of us . And don't insult my intelligence by telling me it is the government!

So, not aluminum hat for you then? President Obama is the best ammo salesman since Mr. Winchester. Past that, the Government has nothing to do with it.

More easily blamed is the mainstream media keeping citizens in fear of life in general. If it's not avian flu, it's pig flu. If it's not pig flu, it's tsunami. If it's not tsunami, it's Y2K If it's not Y2K, it's terrorism. If it's not terrorism, ift's that we are running out of ammo. If we are not running out of ammo, we can't keep up with the supply of gasoline. People in fear are more easily controlled.

But yeah, that hasn't got anythng to do with government, now does it...

Please consider your intellegence un-insulted, but your perspective challenged.
