Got the last 10 boxes of 100-rd Winchester 9mm ammo today! I almost had a stroke when I called and talked to someone in sporting goods who said "yep, we've got several boxes, but no one's come in to buy any yet!"

They're limiting to 6 boxes per person, per type of ammo, per transaction, per day. I say this because I bought 6 boxes, and Bunny Jr. bought 4 -- since he uses my gun at the range sometimes. The wannabe manager came over and started laying into the salesgirl who was so nicely helping us about YOU CAN'T SELL AMMO TO HIM and YOU CAN'T SELL 10 BOXES, blah blah blah. She ignored him and continued to ring me up, whispering "I know how it is, I have a .22 at home." Then the guy started in with me. Big mistake.

But I am writing a nice letter to the GM about the salesgirl's courtesy and excellent customer service!

Oh, specs are: $18.97 per box. 115gr FMJ. It's the target/range stuff, but who cares?! Ammo to be found!!! Woohoo!

Could not sleep so I thought I would do something constructive and take care of the wife's grocery list. Went to the 24 hr Wal-Mart (the one over in Walled Lake, MI) and what do you know, ammo.

Purchased 2 boxes of .357 Sig Winchester (all they had) and 4 boxes of 9mm Blazer Brass (many more left on the shelf). New policy listed, limit 6 boxes per customer. No other ammo to report other then 9mm in (no 40 S&W, .45 ACP, .38 Spl, .357 Mag, etc).

My Walmarts have been out for months as well as far as pistol ammo. Only a few boxes of rifle on the shelf.

I picked up 2 boxes of Federal Bulk .22LR last night at my Walmart. it is trickling in slowly. Still no .38 Special, I'm taking wife down to The Outpost Saturday for lunch and .38 SPCL ammo pickup. I have cut myself back to 50 rounds per range session with the 642. I usually shoot a full brick with the 317 though. I'm putting 24 CBs a day through the 317 in garage. This ammo thing has to come to ahead pretty quick or I'll be doing nothing but dry-firing! You have to fire the snubbies a lot to stay proficient.

Haven't seen any 9mm in the nearest WW in two months. They've had it, I hear, but I keep missing it. But over the weekend I drove to the the next closest WW, only about 20 miles away, and they had 3 boxes of Remington UMC (50 rounds/box) for $11.47/box. I have read some not so nice things about this 9mm, but I bought all three boxes anyways. I'll get a chance tomorrow to finally use it and test it for myself.

I am traveling for work and this week I am in Hazard, Kentucky, I decided to give the wal-mart a try and when I got there I found 4 boxes of 100 count 40 cal. ammo in 165 gr., I tend to like the 165 gr. so I bought the 4 boxes. It was a surprise that they had some ammo but it just showed me that there is ammo to found you just have to look a little harder to find it nowadays. Good luck and happy hunting.

I bought some Remington 158 gr LRN (.38 Special) the other day. It is not my choice of ammo, but better to shoot with mediocre ammo than to not shoot at all! I can always compensate for point of impact later, but at least I keep the feel of the gun under recoil.

Just back from WW. Lots of Blazer Brass .40. Headed over to one of the Long's Drug stores that still has a nice little firearm/ammo section and they had 9mm JHP, and lots of .38spl! Called a buddy who has been desperate for the .38spl--now maybe we'll get back to the range.
