So you think the majority of the people at Tea Party's are kkk members?

yeah, thats a pretty harsh opinion/summary which we don't know the basis of.....
lets make sure this ongoing ammunition thread isn't derailed by kkk/racist rhetoric

If loose gun laws are good for criminals, why do criminals support gun control?

See edited post above. I used a very bad choice of words. I was trying to point out that there those who follow an honest (and healthy) agenda of dissidence and those who are just using the election to carry out an older agenda. Both are stockpiling ammo. The point is, in our area , it is the latter group.

Either way, getting back to the post, in our area it is these groups, well meaning or not, that are limiting the ammo, not a corporate policy of Walmart. My Walmart wants more ammo, we have lots of hunters and HCP holders , making ammo a hot item and the store can make money on it!

It isn't just Walmart. I am entering my 6th month of holding for backorder of my carry ammo online. Everytime somebody posts a link on here saying so-and-so company has the ammo in abundance I follow the link and find the infamous "Out of stock, back order ok" reply when I try to order the ammo listed.

In some rural areas the Walmarts have actually become more busy and have larger gun departments. Our Walmart here (rural Tennessee) now carries more guns than ever ( I have purchased 5 in the last year.). Most of the guns carried are for hunting (we live in a deer and turkey "rich" area) so we don't have to worry about truck load buy ups of the weapons.
They are actively "bugging" the warehouses for more ammo. Our problem is to get there before the "Citizen's Militia" bunch buy it all up.

Don't get too riled about my use of the term Militia. I served 30 years in the USMC and have been a member of the Tennessee State Guard for 18 years. Most of these "Militia" members used to wear white sheets and burn crosses. They are just using the election as an excuse to go back to some bad old habits. I don't think they are after the Administration, I think they are after my property and my wallet (as their prior criminal records will attest.) They also now have a high profile black man they can create fear around.

I know this isn't all of the Tea Party guys who are stocking up on ammo, some are good people, but it is pretty indicative of what we have to contend with in our area.

On the down side, the Walmart 20 miles from here, in a city area, doesn't carry guns or ammo anymore. That pretty much reflects the Liberal views of the city population however, more so than any Walmart corporate policy.
IMO there are many things wrong with the above sentaments, most notably the equation of the Tea Party movement to the KKK. However, to stay on point with the thread topic of ammo supplies at Walmart let me point out the obvious.

Walmart will stock their shelves with what sells within their profit margin expectations for a given amount of floor space. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that sales of long guns (and ammo) in large urban markets is probally not going to be as brisk as in rural markets. Naturally that floor space is going to be provided for products that will generate the most profit margin to their store. Thinking there is some political motivation involved is overlooking the obvious profit motivation.

As much as many want to beat up on Walmart for seeking a profit they, unlike every other entity selling ammo, have not tried to gouge the consumer as it relates to their before and after ammo "dwindling supplies" prices.

An appropriate edit. I am sure the many involved in the Tea Party movement appreciate not being lumped in with the hate mongers. Now back to ammo supplies at Walmart ....

I make no apologies for buying any and all ammo I can get my hands on (budget allowing) especially considering I go thru around 600 rounds a month. Ammo is the only investment I have that is going up in value.
I think you are missing the point. I would love if ALL of us could have 100,000 rounds.

Back on track with this thread!!!

The other day Wally World they had one box of 45 ACP FMJ for around $19.00 and today they had three 50 round boxes of Winchester Home Defense Hollow Point white box for $28.97. I bought one as it is all I can do at the moment. But, it is starting to show up!!! The shelves have been EMPTY for a long time!
