I think you need to back up and get smart on something before you start spewing BS. I carry 45 FMJ's (at times) in my 45 as I did in the USMC for many years...gaurunteed to feed ...shoot to point of aim...and is still a 45 calibar bullet WITHOUT expanding.
Your opinion is your opinion. I happen to think its wrong, were the 45 is concerned, but thats my opinion. No reason to be a dick!

OK Bill, your right no need to be a dick. So don't be one. Seriously now, you think what you did twenty years ago in the military is ok by todays standards? I don't think so. Basing your ammo selection on military experience is not the same as todays urban settings. Let me guess, you carry your 1911 in a flap holster without a round chambered right? Get with the times and modernize your carry ammo. It's right, smart, and the responsible thing to do. Now we each have our opinion. Happy?

Other than that, I thank you for your service to our country so we can voice our opinions as we are doing now.

This ammo is expensive-so I ask the question-How much is your life worth?

Corbon DPX 185+P--expands everytime & penetrates just fine!

I like the DPX stuff, but not the +P loadings. I much prefer the ammo from Tarus--same DPX bullets at standard velocity.

I really like (and carry) Speer GDHP 200+P It seams like the best marriage of bullet weight and velocity to me. And the GDHPs are great penetrators (no under-penetration, and no over-penetration) and expand just as they should.

I am no expert, but I have found JHP to be more accurate than FMJ. I use a 230 gr .45 acp JHP Federal Hydrashock as my defensive carry ammo and Magtech .45 acp 230 gr FMC for range ammo.

I did get Winchester White Box 230 gr JHP .45 auto ammo as well, however, the accuracy wasn't that great as the Hydrashocks.

180 grain taurus. You can hardly find it but it is a barnes copper (same as corbon dpx)

It is a little shallow but expands like no other .86, it shoots soft too. I sometimes carry it in a glock 36. with a 19 in a maxpedition remora
