I have heard mixing ammo in one magazine called "Dutch loading". No agency I know of allows it, and I can't see how anyone could keep track of what round is up next in the magazine once the lead starts flying. Pick a good load and stick with it.

Is Buffalo Bore ammo in .380 within SAAMI specs? They load their ammo hot, and as I understand it, there is no such thing as "+P" .380 ammo.

Would hate to have the gun blow up on you!

During the summer and early fall months, carry Hornady CD or Speer Gold Dot. When the cold gets around to your area, FMJ of your choice. As far as stopping someone with a .380, the groin and the face are adequately the same size for most bodies, so if you have the chance, take either-or

Well, I'm not sure if I was carrying on duty I'd "dutch" load either, however since I'm carrying for my personal defense, I really don't give a hoot as to what's up next. I'm going to shoot until they stop. I figure that I have the best of both worlds...penetration and expansion. As far as +P in 380, nothing recognized that I know of. I've been shooting it for some time, don't see any adverse effects. 232 are fairly robust and large for a .380. Pick what makes YOU happy.

Allot of talk about the .380 not being an effective defensive round.

My take on it's simple. If he's worth one round he's worth the whole Mag, and if he's still comin after that, he'll get the other two as well! I use this theory no matter what caliber I'm carrying.

I'll buy that.

As for "dutch" loading, if you double tap you'll be using both on the same BG.

I will go on the record to say I'm NOT for this at all. I'd be interested to see if this actually helps cause jams.

My .380's have all Golden Sabers loaded. No mixing and matching.

I'll go on record too, I've not had a single failure to feed, stove pipe or any malfunction what so ever with the Sig 232 and I've been shooting it and carrying it for three years. I've probably put several thousand rounds of FMJ and HP ammo. Just about every brand out there, not a single issue. So, to each his own. Just make sure it works in your gun.....sure works well in mine.
