Need test data for 45acp 230gr hydra shocks
I'am looking for test data and or pics of expanded bullets of this round. Can anyone here point me in the right direction?

Hello. The test results I've seen reported in 10% ballistic gelatin average about 12" in penetration. Weight retention is usually high.
![]() This 230-gr. Hydrashok was fired from a 5" 1911 into "wetpack," supersaturated newsprint soaked for 24 hours and then drained 30 mins before shooting. The below-listed average velocities show the gun from which they were obtained and are based on 10 shots fired 10' from the chronograph screens: Colt Defender w/3" bbl: Average Velocity: 799 ft/sec SIG-Sauer P220 w/4 1/4"bbl: Average Velocity: 871 ft/sec Colt National Match w/5" bbl: Average Velocity: 883 ft/sec I have seen these bullets removed from javelina and deer and they do resemble the picture shown above.
