I'll be Testing Corbon .45 Auto Rim DPX...

...in the very near future.

This standard pressure load looks like it might be just the thing for folks with the snub .45 ACP revolvers. We'll see.

Corbon lists this at 1050 ft/sec nominal velocity.

I have only one .45 ACP revolver and it has a 5" bbl, but we'll see what shakes out over the chronograph, how it groups and in relation to 230 or heavier bullets, and of course, expands.

Best.

Holy crap....I never knew Corbon had a load for that round.

I'm certainly looking forward to another one of your reviews SAC.

Stephen, I believe this is the same bullet we tested last summer in the guise of a short barrel round for the 45ACP. It was shot from a 2" S&W and expanded nicely thru 4 layers of denim.

I should have taken son's 625 but forgot.

Will be interested in you findings. :)

Very happy CB decided to load it in Auto Rim.

That seems kinda slow to me. I chrono'ed their 165gr. HP ACP load outta my 5" Colt at 1268fps. CorBon advertises it at 1250fps. ------

Hello. Yes, I think it is going to be the rimmed version of the company's "Compact Gun Load", which I tinkered around with a while back. It does fill a niche in providing the only expanding load in .45 Auto Rim. I'll be shooting this out of a 5" revolver as it's the only one I have, but it wouldn't surprise me if velocities are not similar to the Compact Gun ACP load out of the 5" auto.
