I agree with the above 2 posters, and I had not even thought about it before.

About the Wal-Mart ammo, a guy that was at the CCW class I was helping teach a couple weeks ago buys up whatever is popular on Gunbroker and makes a killing. He said he was getting $40 out of 500 rounds of .22lr. That is crazy.

Maybe more depending on caliber. Even reloading components are scarce. Someone has it, Remington is working 24/7 and that's pumping out a lot of ammo, it's going somewhere...

Ah well, hopefully this will settle off.

I was wanting to get into IDPA or something next summer, I need a hobby, not sure I will be able to with the prices what they are.

I think it is a really bad commentary that man is so willing to screw his/her fellow man. Honestly, it's 2009, how many more centuries have to pass before we finally figure out we are here to help each other, not totally take advantage of each other.

It is disgustingly bad. I fully support free enterprise, but it is things like this that invite governmental regulation. But, as someone said, the anti2A are probably laughing at us.

It's not always the prices but the fact that even at these prices it's hard to find what you want.

I'd say there were 4 tables at each show of guys selling personally reloaded ammo. It was cheaper that factory ammo YMMV but I won't touch the stuff.

Im as much of a capitalist as the next guy, maybe more. But 50-100% profit margins when you have no skin in the game (other than buying Walmart ammo out the back door by paying off employees) is just ripping people off, pure and simple. These bloodsuckers are also selling to new shooters who don't know their prices are unreasonable. I don't want the government involved (any more than it already is), but there is something to be said for treating your fellow man in a fair and just manner.
