.40 S&W Gold Dot 200 grs.

Has anyone test data for this load? Is it a hunting or self defense ammo?

I doubt it, since according to Speer's website, it doesn't exist.

The only 200gr Gold Dot bullets I am aware of are in .45 or .44.

.40S&W is not normally considered a hunting cartridge.

The heaviest .40S&W that I can find is 180 gr. from any manufacturer. Hornady does make a 200 gr. in 10mm, though.

.45 200gr Gold Dot is junk anyway. It's gotten some bad reviews by Dr. Roberts.

I found it on Speer Law Enforcement website (oops, it means it isn`t a hunting load!). There is also a Lawman TMJFN 200 grs. and even a Lawman CleanFire TMJFN in the same weight.
By the way, Double Tap makes 200 grainer XTP in .40 S&W caliber.

TMJFN (Total Metal Jacket Flat Nose) isn't a GDHP...

I'd only use it for range work; others may choose otherwise.

ETA--Speer LE does, in fact list a 200gr Gold Dot. I stand corrected.

My apologies ... there IS a 200 gr Gold Dot. I didn't think to check the LE list.
