If you do a search on Gunbroker you can pretty much find any type of ammo you want. I see Ranger Ts and Gold Dots on there which are both somewhat hard to find in 50 round boxes.

In my PPS I carry CorBon DPX 115+P. The PPS can handle +P, but +P+ should be avoided.

I would keep it simple and inexpensive. Get a couple of boxes of Speer Gold Dot (124gr), run 75 or so rounds thru them. If it feeds nice with NO problems, then you got your SD ammo. Speerdot has proven itself, and the blackbox LE stuff from Ammotogo.com is cheaper than others. Ammotogo usually has the 50round LE box for 30bux. They only have 115gr+P+ currently at that price and they do have the more expensive green box 124gr. I think thats easier than buying hundreds of $$ of different ammo. But, you could do this with any round, try one brand, if your gun likes it, your done. If you have problems with FTF or FTE, then move on to the next brand. Good luck

Remington Golden Sabers
Corbon DPX
Hornady Tap or critical defense

Here's a good source of unbiased information:

Best Choices for Self Defense Ammo

You will notice that the author finds velocity has little to do with penetration and therefore does not find +p or +p+ plus to offer much in the way of additional wound effectiveness.

Standard pressure rounds will save you some cash and do the job as well, or maybe better, than the hot loads.

Thanks for all of your help. I guess I'll just have to buy a bunch of ammo and go to the range and shoot it all up. Sounds like fun to me.
