I bought some PMC at Scheel's for $7.99 recently. It seems to shoot OK.

In reality though, my ammo budget is done. I've got lots, and now I need to go shoot some of it...

This mentality is getting really old and busted. If you must find someone to blame for the new service economy perhaps the finger needs to pointed at the American consumer.
I don't blame ChiComMart for destroying America, Americans are doing that, in part because they are willing to patronize such establishments. Wal-Mart just offers what most people want, its just too bad IMO that they want it.

I blame ChiComMart for having horrible customer service and always providing a miserable shopping experience. I'd rather pay more somewhere else, YMMV.

frustration abounds; mostly

I live in midland area of S.C. I have seen a small increase in price of ammo except on .22 and 40 sw. I have a glock 23 40sw so I have been buying a little here and there since 40 is easy to find here. 380 are never in stock yet the price on them has jumped drastically. Local walmart usually gets in 8-10 boxes of 380, but employees have first dibs and they buy it up. frustration abounds

I agree with your comments. I wasn't busting your chops just taking exception to another poster putting the blame on the loss of American jobs on Walmarts shoulders. At the end of the day, Walmart, like any other business, will only survive by selling goods and services at prices the consumer is willing to pay. Unfortunately it is a complicated and viscous circle.

I still say that Walmart is the Best deal in town. I have yet to find ammo online that was cheaper. The one factor that decides the go/no-go decision is shipping fees. It can rack up the the total cost.

This thread reminded me to swing by walmart today, and I picked up another 400 rds of Winchester 9mm for $91 (total w/tax).

I still have to go online to get .380 and .45, but for .22, 9mm & 38 special, Walmart is there for me these days.

The price is going up because the dollar is buying less.
Gold hit $1100/oz. today. (it is up 53% this year alone) Expect the price of everything to go up as congress bankrupts us.
