Range Ammo
I'm curious to get everyone's thoughts on FMJ range ammo. I have always shot the Winchester FMJ. For no other reason than it was the first I tried and I liked it. (Note: I have tried many different defensive rounds) But lately with ammunition becoming more scarce it is now difficult to find my beloved Winchester FMJ and when I do find it the price is almost double any other brand
. Now I have decided to just start buying whats available. I'm looking for opinions on what's out there. Thanks ahead for the suggestions. |

Federal ammo seems to be more prevalent around here right now along with Winchester white box. Magtech, PMC, UMC (Remington), Speer (Lawman), Independence, etc have all performed well for me in my pistols for range ammo as well.

Over the years, I've pretty much just used what was available, with the 'default' ammo being the Winchester white box. With the exception of the Remington UMC, I never noticed any difference among Winchester, Federal, CCI, etc. Speaking just with regard to .45 ACP, the UMC ammo was the least accurate of all the 'generic' ball for me.
In my carbine, I've noticed the W-W is dirtier than the Fed American Eagle I usually shoot.
