Modern Technique of the Pistol

Who all has read this? My CCW instructor highly recommends it for marksmanship principles. I've done a little searching for a copy and all I seem to be able to source is hard-bound (read: pricey). Does anyone have a source for paperback version?

It's never been published in paperback.

This book is long out of print.

Good luck with your search.

My local library's inter library loan department has been able to find many an obscure volume for me. And it's a free service. You might try yours.

Well, the book is selling for "collector" Out of Print prices.
A good read by Cooper but, nothing in there you can't get in lots of other cheaper "reads" these days and on the Internet.
AKA Large Bore Fat Bullets - Basic Weaver - Good Crisp Trigger - Breath Control & a Flash sight Picture.

I actually have this book in paperback but it's on-loan to a friend who is going through a police academy at the moment. I got mine from Gunsite and HIGHLY recommend it. When it's not with my friend, it stays in my range bag and goes everyplace.

You can order it from Gunsite's Pro Shop. It's about 3/4 of the way down the page on the link. $26.00 brand new. Worth every penny.

QK is kinda right. You can get all the lessons in there from numerous other sources, but there is an entire section on drills to practice. It also discusses different stances and their strengths/weaknesses individually. Sure the other reads might be cheaper but you can pay more to get the whole collection elsewhere or find it all in one place for $26.

That is it's fundamental value. For dynamic (read: increasing your chances of survival) response, there are far better books & DVDs out.

So I walk into my school's bookstore and this book is selling for $38 brand new, talk about shocked!!! The only place I knew you could get it was at Gunsite!! This as well as a guide to handguns and a book about the debate of gun control. I took the class its first semester that it was offered and I attended Gunsite as the lab credit. When I got my grade for it, there were no books. Just a grade for attendance, a mid-term and a final. The class is called "Personal Security and Defensive Skills."
