Book of Combat Handgunnery 6th Edition

Another recent purchase that I highly recommend.

How to defend, your family, your home and yourself. Excellent section on buying a used gun, Close quarters battle, ammo selection and a wealth more.

Some experts may find the book boring. I am not an expert. I am a learner and this book answered a lot of questions and provoked a lot of personal though on CC. As well as a different view on situational awareness.

For me, money very, very well spent.

Craig

I bought the fourth edition several years ago, and found it to be very useful. Who is the author of this edition?

Enjoy!

I read the fifth edition which is apparently the same book except for the cover. It is an excellent book.

How someone with a reputation like Mas can allow his name to be on a cover that has the "finger on the trigger thing" going on baffles me,.but I bet that's the publishers call.

I believe the 8th edition will be out soon. I'd get as many as possible and compare notes.

No, I, too, read both, and there's little, IF ANY, repeated material in the new version!

I stand corrected. I only read the fifth and heard about the sixth. Isn't every edition (basically) a spin on the same material?

Sometimes it's true, but in this case Mas appears to have written this one from scratch. Of course, everything written on this subject is BASICALLY the same "spin" with some approaches just a bit more interesting than others.

For what it's worth, I expected the Fifth Edition of The Concealed Handgun Manual by Chris Bird would differ VERY little from the Fourth Edition I already had on my bookshelf, but I had a gift certificate AND a discount coupon from Barnes and Noble burning a hole in my pocket, so I sprung for it.

I read it from cover to cover and was pleased to find a CONSIDERABLY large amount of BRAND NEW material had been added. I was glad I bought it.

This is good to know.

How about writing up a review and posting it here? The Fourth Edition has been reviewed a couple of times in this forum. It would be interesting to compare the new material with the old.
