Indeed, thanks for posting! Ayoob always gets down to the core in my book. I started out some 12 years or so reading his material with 'In the Gravest Extreme'. His articles in many periodical magazines are always the first reads for me.

Post For The Benefit Of Our New Members

We have so many new members here and many of those new members are new to firearms and new to carrying a firearm for personal protection. I'm certain that some of those members will be asking themselves who Massad Ayoob is.

Here is the Wikipedia page for Massad. Those who have been instructed by him or have seen him on PDTV already know that he does not just talk the talk but can walk the walk.

Massad Ayoob
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Massad F. Ayoob (born July 20, 1948) is an internationally-known firearms and self-defense instructor.
He is the Director of the Lethal Force Institute in Concord, New Hampshire, has taught police techniques and civilian self-defense to both law enforcement officers and private citizens in numerous venues since 1974, and has appeared as an expert witness in several trials.

He has served as a part-time police officer in New Hampshire since 1972 and currently holds the rank of Captain in the Grantham, New Hampshire police department.

Massad Ayoob has authored several books and over one thousand articles on firearms, combat techniques, self-defense, and legal issues, and has served in an editorial capacity for Guns Magazine, American Handgunner, Gun Week, and Combat Handguns.

Since 1995, he has written self-defense- and firearms-related articles for Backwoods Home Magazine.
He also has a featured segment on the television show Personal Defense TV, which airs on The Outdoor Channel in the United States.

While Ayoob has been in the courtroom as a testifying police officer, expert witness, and police prosecutor, he is not an attorney; he is, however a former Vice Chairman of the Forensic Evidence Committee of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL), and is believed to be the only non-attorney to ever hold this position.

His published work was cited by the Violence Policy Center in their amicus curiae brief filed with the US Supreme Court in the District of Columbia v. Heller case, and he himself filed a declaration in another amicus brief in this case.

His course for attorneys, titled "The Management of the Lethal Force/Deadly Weapons Case" was, according to Jeffrey Weiner (former President of NACDL), "the best course for everything you need to know but are never taught in law school."

Ayoob remains an internationally prominent law enforcement officer training instructor.
Since 1987, he has served as Chair of Firearms Committee of the American Society of Law Enforcement Trainers (ASLET).

He also serves on the Advisory Board of the International Law Enforcement Educators’ and Trainers’ Association, and is an Instructor at the National Law Enforcement Training Center.

Critics of Ayoob, such as John Rosenthal of Stop Handgun Violence, a Massachusetts gun control organization, accuse him of preparing potential killers to be more lethal, despite screening processes which permit only law enforcement officers, Federal Firearms Licensees, holders of state-issued concealed handgun carry permits, or those having similar credentials to take his courses.

That's not a bad battery for in the city either although I would probably substitute an AR or AK for the hunting rifle and might substitute a .22 pistol for the .22 rifle. Or maybe just add the .22 pistol to the battery and make it a 5 gun battery.

i was able to show Mas some of my gun collection and it would be very hard to get rid of the historical pieces. But, if I were in a survival situation I'd keep:
1. Ruger 10/22
2. Remington 870 with two barrels.
3. SOCOM16 with Aimpoint
4. Glock 32C.

He says that like it is a bad thing because he is unable to distinguish between the lawful law abiding and the vicious insane criminal who preys upon the innocent and defenseless. The ones he is so busy protecting

Yes our warriors kill in defense of our nation, Yes LEO kill in defense of our communities. Yes citizens kill in defense of their babies family and loved one. Not a damn thing wrong with that IMO

Yes Ayoob teaches the law abiding and just how to defend themselves and how to effectively kill vicious predators as a last resort if need be. Not a damn thing wrong with that either IMO

Of course John Rosenthal and his ilk are going to attack Ayoob for working contrary to their efforts to protect and defend of rapists robbers and homicidal maniacs. John Rosenthal, Sarah Brady et all whole lives are dedicated to feeding the defenseless innocent unarmed citizens to their murderous robbing rapist pals.

What Ayoob teaches does get their rapist, robber, and homicidal maniac pals killed, when they try to prey on anyone he has taught
