Oh Man!!! that was a good read.
Lost most of the past couple evenings going through that e-book.
Definately makes you want to pack a bug-out bag just in case.
The lesson I take away from this is to work together and always have someone on your 6.

Good book!!!! They did seem to take to long to get the MSG. that civilization as we know it was gone. I did like the 3S solution to the bad guys. There is nothing wrong with being Judge, Jury and executioner if you whiteness crimes such as were described.

SO I hate you for posting this link. I've lost my last two nights to this. Very good read!

The sentence structure and grammar is poor, but with a good editor this could be a great book!

"Lights Out" and "The Road" - a couple more I'll have to look up.

If you want a good TEOTWAWKI story, you might want to check out "Lucifer's Hammer" by Larry Niven. It's a "comet hits the earth" story - but MUCH better done than any of the stupid movies. It really gets into the psychology and sociology of how people would react - and definitely gets you thinking.

Absolutely! Lucifer's Hammer came out while I was in high school and it has been a part of my survival library since then. It is AWESOME.

Another very good and often overlooked book dates from 1957 (IIRC) and that is ALAS BABYLON by Pat Frank.

After reading this in June I picked up.

"The Road" by Cormac McCarthy

"One Second After" by William R. Forstchen

"Patriots" by James W. Rawles

"Alas, Babylon" by Pat Frank - haven't started this one yet though.

TEOTWAWKI books get me every time.

FYI: "The Road" is being released as a movie on Nov 25.

I'm a little nervous how it will turn out. I think it's going to be really tough to replicate the intensity of the book in a movie.

And if it does replicate the despair, I will probably need drugs.
Most depressing book I have ever read.
