My first carry gun, a Charter Arms Bulldog in 44 Spl.It's a 5 shot chrome 3" barrel with a bobbed hammer. I had a gun smith go over it when I first got it.I carry 300gr. aluminum Silvertips that expand to 65cal.It's very nice to shoot for it's light weight. I also have an AMT Backup in .380 auto.

M&P 340 loaded with 158 gr Buffalo Bore LSWCHP's is my first choice. LCP with Gold Dots is my choice when wearing light clothing or shorts.
I get a kick outta teaching a Firearms Training class to Academy Recruits and after about 6 hours of lecture I will casually pull the unloaded LCP from my front pocket and watch the eyes bug out. The lesson, you can't always tell who is carrying by looking.

Hello Everyone,

I have been a lurker on this forum for a few weeks now and this is my first post. I have had my CHL for a little over a year now, and I have learned some do's and don'ts when it comes to concealing my side arm. On day 1 of receiving my licence, I started off by carrying the SA XD9645. Its the smallest XD platform firearm in .45 caliber that fits my hand well and performs with stellar marks, however is still a rather large pistol. I always went with the idea that the larger/heavier/faster the bullet, the better the results in times of need. I realized after a while that I was constantly uncomfortable due to the size and imprint the IWB holster was showing, and I did not want to brandish my weapon at any time. I asked a local LEO what his thoughts were on CCW choice and he recommended that I should look into a smaller framed pistol. His idea is that "no one wants to get shot, and 95% of the time (does not matter the caliber) the mere threat is enough to stop the situation. I invested into a LCP, CZ82,P-94 Radom, TT-33, and P238. I carry all of these depending on weather, and I do not worry so much anymore that I do not carry a .45 ACP. IMO, I will NOT however carry anything lower than a .380.

Currently, I am carrying CZ 82 in 9x18 mak caliber, and with a P238 as my BUG in .380.
