[Help]Converting my XD9 to an XD40

What do I need to do to convert my XD9 -> XD40? Can I just buy a .40 barrel and some .40 mags? Or is it a much more involved process.

Are there kits available?

I don't think you can go from 9mm to 40 cal. lot of work involved. You may wanna ask the company.

You can sell your 9 and buy a .40. Which reminds me, when are they going to make a .22 kit for the Xd's?

Its my understanding that if you have a 40 you can convert to a 357sig or a nine. A 357 sig can be converted to a 9 or a 40.

You can't go up though so if you bought a 9, you can't convert.

The breechface on your 9mm slide is too narrow for a .40SW or .357sig. The larger shell casings wouldn't fit.

There is a kit available. It costs ~$500 and as a bonus, you get an XD9!

45 compact unless deep concealment is a necessity.

There is a benefit to having that 9mm. Its much cheaper to shoot and chances are you will shoot it more often and be much more proficient at it.

That was the deciding factor for me, and I have no regrets!

It'll cost you somewhere in the neighborhood of $450-$500.

(There are conversion barrels available to change a .40 or .357Sig to a 9mm, but not the other way.)
