These pics have been posted before ........ but, my SP-101 which saw carry duty for about a year and my first carry which was the old and much holster-worn M85.

These days a snub is relegated to a spare "grab'n'go" here and there.

I think that subject needs a thread of it's own. No hi-jacking.

I just read up on the .327 Federal Magnum, looks like a good defensive cartridge but its not comparable to the 357 Magnum (it’s being advertised that it is). More realistically its closer to 9mm luger. Still looks pretty good though. I was dead set on buying a 357 snubbie but will have to look at this new cartridge for a bit. -- Like that ruger's new revolver is a six shot cylinder, hoping maybe S&W might chamber their M&P snubbie line in this new cartridge!

The Federal .327 Magnum is running here:

New Federal .327 Magnum Cartridge / New Ruger SP101 .327 Fed Magnum : MERGED

Of course, if you happen to own the new Ruger SP-101 in this caliber, feel free to post your pics here.

Otherwise, let's leave the discussion of the cartridge to the other thread.

I expect we'll see S&W with one shortly, likely a J-frame. Being an "S&W addict", I know if they release one my checking account will take a hit....
I might look into the 327 at some point, but I really must just be one of those "sickos" that loves lighting off a .357 from this little gun . . . it kinda brings a tear to the eye :)

I have 2, a SP101, 357 mag with a 2 1/4 inch barrel; and my favorite, a S&W 629 with a 3 inch barrel 44 mag. My flame thrower.

Carried a 3" Chief's Airweight as a backup gun back when I still wore a badge and many fewer pounds.

I won't start a ballistics debate here, but suggest you do a read of the article and statistics in the April 2008 issue of "American Rifleman."

I apologize for digressing...now back to your local snubbie show...

My S&W model 36 in Kramer MSP paddle with Simply Rugged speed strip pouch, all on a Liger gun belt.
