You might try looking into a Bersa Thunder (7 rounds) or Thunder Plus (15 rounds) if your looking for .380.

I'm with Sixto. Why buy a .380 when you could get a 9mm in the same size weapon? 9mm is a superior defensive round.
I see a .380 as practical for a BUG, a pocket pistol, such as the Kel-Tec P-3AT, Ruger LCP, the upcoming Kahr .380. It's compactness is the primary reason to pick it. For a weapon the size of a Bersa Thunder, I'd prefer to have a Kahr MK/PM9. I've looked at Kel-Tec PF-9s quite a few times, and I just can't bring myself to buy one. They just don't feel right to me. The Kahrs are a whole different story. The look and feel are excellent.

You answered your own question when you said; "They just don't feel right to me. The Kahrs are a whole different story. The look and feel are excellent." It could be that's exactly how people feel about their pistol of choice, be it a .22lr or a howitzer. The size of the gun has more to do with the size of the human hand...not the caliber. |

Im awaiting tauruses new slim 9mm. Saw an article in handguns magazine. Im going to compare it with the kel-tec pf9. Im interested in a slim 9mm for summer. I wish springfield would make a single stack xd because I love my xdsc9mm just a little to thick for t-shirt weather.

I stand by my previous contention, that the .380's best destiny is in a platform which emphasizes its compactness. Larger and heavier is a case for a more effective round. That said, if a lower power/larger platform is the only defensive firearm which suits you, then more power to you. If a .22 is what you can handle, it's better than having no firearm at all.

Never did find the Bersa Thunder plus with the larger capacity mag, so...today I bought the BERSA Thunder .380 Duo-Tone pistol. Got it registered at the SO, and cleaned at home. lot of oil.
Shot 3 different brands of ammo out of it, then ate supper. I live on "MY" range (10 acres in the country), so after supper, and more cleaning, I returned and did some night shooting. Like the sights. At 15' it was all in an area that would be deemed the Bad Guys's major vitals, like heart. liver, heart.. did I mention heart?? LOL![]() I broke it down where I take the slide off. What a BUGGER is is to get that back on! Finally figured it out. I had to have the magazine inserted and then I could get things to alighn back up like they should.... plus, keeping my tongue in just the right position... ![]()
