I got my LCP back from the recall repair in 5 days. Good turn-around IMHO especially so close to the holidays.

Got my LCP back today, 5 day turn-around.
Kerb, Send your pistol back. Heck, if nothing else, the free magazine and cap is worth it. ETA: I did notice that my LCP's trigger has about a quarter inch of free travel that it didn't have before. Haven't range tested it yet, tho. Range is snowed in.

Found a thread on the Elsie Pea forum where others have experienced the same trigger issues post-recall and were discussing how to remedy it. I'm not completely comfortable with the idea of posting a link to another forum, but no one here besides Captain was chiming in on this issue: So, about that trigger....

Hmmm, thanks for the link, but there didn't seem to be any good news at that other forum.
I'm not worried about dropping any firearm...that's what a holster is for, and I'm not really worried about an extra(which would be my 5th) magazine. If Ruger ever sends me my box, I'll decide, but the LCP isn't that much fun to shoot in the first place and if the Recall is going to make it worse, I might just pass along the box if I ever sell it. I am surprised about the lack of reviews on post recall LCP's. If any of you other guys have noticed a difference, if you can post a range report it would be appreciated. Regards, Kerb

Took my two grandsons out yesterday mainly to let oldest grandson break in the new shotgun I got him for Christmas. Took the LCP out for the first time since receiving it back from the recall only to function test it and here's what I got.
Worked flawlessly. I was never overly concerned with trigger pull on this gun as it is NOT a range/target pistol. This is a close quarters, defensive handgun with rudimentary sights (at best). I will not be attempting any 25 yard head shots on a BG behind a hostage with it. I fired two mags of carry ammo (Remington Golden Sabers) and three mags of Magtech ball ammo. No malfunctions. Accuracy was acceptable as I was using a clay bird as a target at about 30 yards. Hit the bird on about the 4th shot and chewed up the dirt bank around the bird with all shots except the last mag full of Magtech which I fired rapid fire just to test reliability. Trigger pull was as good or better as before repair and this is confirmed by my electronic trigger pull gauge. Originally broke at 7lbs. to 7lbs. 3oz.s. Now breaks consistently at 6lbs. 4ozs. If you have any desire to reload 380, they also made the frame repair in my pistol and the empties are now pristine. I would suggest thinking twice about not sending in a gun for repair. IANAL, but should you drop an unaltered gun and injure someone, I believe your liability could be even worse had you refused to send it in for repair of a known defect. Hoss

Got my LCP back today with a new free mag and an LCP ball cap. TOTAL time was less than 2 weeks from start to finish, even during the Christmas rush! Restored my faith in UPS. I was confident Ruger would get it right and they did. No complaints.

Well I was impressed with the customer service. Only took a few days to get it back after I send it in.

Sent my LCP in on 12/31/08. I really think Ruger is doing a GREAT job of handeling this recall. We've been shooting Rugers for a long time. I'll buy another Ruger in the future..Stay Safe...maybe one of them new flattops...J.H.
