I sent mine in a week before Christmas and received it back within 2 weeks.

Finally had the chance to go out into no-man's land this weekend and test fire it. Ruger included a new clip with the returned LCP. I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong, but with almost every round fired, the new clip would disengage and the next round wouldn't load.

I switched over to the regular clips and had absolutely no problem with them.

I'm thinking to myself, "If I ever need to rely on this gun to save my life, this new clip could kill me!"

I got a post card in the mail yesterday saying they were out of a critical part and this was going to cause some delay.

However this evening UPS showed up with it. I had sent it in the week after christmas near the first.

I received a Hat and a new standard magazine (not the one with pinky extension).

I got that postcard as well, few days ago. Got my LCP today! However, apparently they ran out of the mag grip extension and will be sending that at a later date...oh well, least I have my gun back! Going to head to the range next week and see how it shoots now. They received mine on January 9th.

I got the "delayed for a month" postcard last week. I got my LCP a few days ago.

It came with an extra mag, and a LCP hat. The finger extension should be mailed later when they get more (according to their included statement).

The slide lock feels great, and actually USABLE (without jamming the finger nails).

I'm not sure, but I think the recoil rod is different.

I'm satisfied with the Ruger LCP recall customer service. They handled it very well.

It took me over a month to get the ship-ready box from Ruger after I registered online. I shipped the pistol UPS next day air on Feb.3 and got it back in the evening of Feb. 9. Very impressive! Not only did I get a promised magazine but also a black LCP hat. The note about a pinky magazine extension being out of stock was enclosed. I will be shipped to me separately when it becomes available. The letter to the owner talked about installing a new hammer mechanism and making other changes, that were not named. I can wait to go to the range and check things out!

I sent my LCP back a week ago Thursday and got it back on Friday. I didn't get a postcard or call the hotline, but did get the gun back 8 days later, I was lucky to be home when UPS came. I received a cap and the extra mag w/the note about the finger rest coming later. All in all I'd say I was pretty pleased with the service from Ruger.-Scott.

I finally did send my LCP in about a week and a half ago. Hope it gets back soon.

Unless your LCP went to the repair team rather than the recall team, you should have it back quickly except that there was a post about some parts shortages that recently developed. FYI - Ruger parts running a little behind.

Yeah, I saw that. I also saw stuff about the magazine release being loose or falling out. I saw stuff about the 'extra' magazines sent back as not working or missing parts. I saw stuff about the trigger being even worse...

As a matter of fact, I've seen quite a few things that made me think maybe I should have stuck to my original opinion and not sent it back.

Oh, well. I guess we'll see.

Magazine Release Issues:
There have been problems with magazines falling out prematurely, especially with the pinky extension base plate on the magazine. It appears that the pinky extension plate permits the user to add additional pressure to the release with the pressure on the base plate.

The recall provided a reinforcing roll pin in the plastic magazine release. This has proven inadequate and they are now going to a metal magazine release. This may be the part causing the wait.
Extra Magazine missing parts:
The free magazine was promised with the new base plate. They ran out of the new base plates so they shipped the magazines with the old base plate and promised to send a replacement as soon as available. The magazines are functional with either plate.
Trigger Issues:
The trigger being worse or not is still difficult to confirm. If you fired a lot of rounds or dry fire a lot before sending in the LCP for recall processing, you may lose some of the smoothing that takes place during break-in. I do a lot of dry-firing to maintain my proficiency in smooth trigger discipline. Mine was back to pre-recall status quickly.
As a major contributor to the Elsie Pea Forum - The #1 Ruger LCP Owner Forum and Information Source , I follow this stuff pretty closely. If there are other concerns, perhaps I can help flesh out the details and/or provide background.
