Sorry, Fred, but I think that is hooey. Why would a police department be testing pocket guns? Sounds like an urban legend to me. Maybe started by Kel-Tek.

P3-ATs are easier to find than LCPs. LCPs sell for a premium over P3-ATs. The customer speaks loudly.

Did you ever think that P-3AT's are more available because KT has been making them for over 6 years? Not to mention the fact Ruger had a recall right off the bat, which I'm sure put a bit of a slow down in production dealing with such issues, plus company's often release new guns in a limited run to create demand.

My earlier posts in this thread cover your speculation adequately. I would add that my friend who works in a gun store says that he has P3-ATs in stock because people are leaving them there while LCPs still have a waiting list. At this point in time, I think either is sufficiently reliable to EDC and both companies have a good customer service reputation. But customer demand still rules.

Local gun store has had a P3AT in stock for about 3 months with little or no interest. Two LCPs left within 1 day and osold 20 minutes apart, about 4 months ago. But to be honest, the .380 shortage may have an effect here too.

LCPs in the $450.00 price range, which is insane, is fairly common place.

Just picked up my LCP in NW Ohio for $300.00. Is there anyway to tell via Serial Number if your gun is a recall gun?

If it is 370-XXX, then it is a recall gun. 371 and up, you are OK.

Mine was an early 370-XXX, I sent it in, it came back and has been just great ever since!

Well when I bought my LCP I compared it to a P3AT and the quality of the feel between both guns sold me on the LCP. I paid $299.99 for it and could have had one from Gunbroker for $279 but with shipping and FFL fee would have cost me more.
