I sent my LCP to AZ about two weeks ago after having some problems with the magazine catch. Called Ruger today to ask if they were going to perform the recall retrofit while it was in their possession and they said that was the plan. The problem is that the retrofit parts have not been finished yet, so the fabrication delay was going to add to the time I will spend waiting for it to be shipped back. After all this hassle, I may just trade it upon it's return.

I too, am thinking about a possible trade. Although I love my LCP, I'm thinking about a Glock 26. Since I already have a CZ-75, I have plenty of 9mm ammo on hand.

If anyone wants to weigh in on the Glock 26, I'm all ears.

You'll never regret buying a Glock 26. That's a keeper. May be too chunky for pocket carry if intended to be replacement for LCP....but a way better firearm in all respects IMO.

LCP recall 370's

yep my LCP falls into the recall. I have already called Ruger and they will ship me a box etc. I had the same deal with my P85 some years ago; ruger took care of it and even sent me a free 15rd mag then too! Ruger is a top notch company to deal with; I'll keep ya'll posted on the outcome.
BTW my LCP shoots flawlessy, and I love it!

Got a recall on mine too, and for all you that think the recall is the end of the world, lets see----I have a recall on my Ford P/U, and no I do not get anything free from Ford, I do get to spend the time and gas money driving it to the dealer (they don't send out a wrecker to get it) at least Ruger is sending the call tag!

Mazda also had recall, Elantra had recall. If we choose not to do business with any companies that have had recalls, where would we be????

Bright side---new upgrades, free magazine, and the anticipation of the gun coming home.

Well spoken! I have no ill feelings towards the .380 caliber, but anytime you upgrade to a small 9mm you are increasing the odds of your survival IMHO.

I dont mind the recall at all. They are sending a box arranging UPS to come to my house to pick it up, giving me something free, and shipping it back. Kudos to Ruger for doing it right.

Doesn't the Kel-Tec P3-AT have this same problem of not being drop safe?

I work at a gun shop.....We have had 5 new LCPs come in that would not fire. Pull the trigger and the hammer goes back about 4/5 of the way and then stops. If you look you can see the right side of the frame bulging as the trigger is pulled. I have not heard of this happening after it has been shot, only new out of the box, maybe they will make a little modification there as well.

Exactly, my wife was about to order a spare mag for hers, now it's free.
