While this is my first experience with such a recall, and my first Ruger, I'm looking at the scope of this campaign. With that in mind, and that the mailers will take nearly a month, this gives them time to gear up internally for the massive response.

From here, the one-week turnaround that they quoted me seems reasonable. I'm sure they are scrambling now to staff-up and train-up for the deluge of LCPs that will be hitting them in a month or so! Being a manufacturing firm I'm confident that they will have tested out a process, but will likely have to tweak it during the real campaign.

I appreciate their effort so far, and can't say anything ill about Ruger or what I've experienced so far with the LCP. However, being a safety issue, I've put "Lucy" in the safe till the mailer arrives!

At least they were kind enough to do this in the colder months so you can carry your main pistol under a jacket ;)

Has anyone actually received their mailer from Ruger to send back yet?

It's been about three weeks since the recall, and when I spoke with them, they said shippers would be going out in 3-3½ weeks.

I got in line today. Very nice lady on phone. She said mailer should arrive in two weeks. She said repair time is 7 days and 2 days shipping. We'll see.

When I spoke to the hotline, I was told to ship back ONLY the pistol and nothing else -- no magazine. Just FYI.

I called them like 2 weeks ago and they said UPS would be contacting me. Nothing yet. Has anybody sent theirs in yet?

I spoke with Ruger on Friday (11/21) and they said the mailer was on it's way to me. I hope to have it on Monday. I will keep you all posted.

I also talked to them on Friday, as I was trying to get information on when dealers might start seeing shipments of new for sale guns. I was informed that they expect to ship the first batch of post recall guns before the end of the month and then expect to be back on the normal manufacturing schedule.

I contacted a local dealer and got on his waiting list... about #31 :(

I guess we'll see what happens.

I'm getting a little agitated because I notified Ruger on the first day of the recall via their web form. Two weeks later I called and they claimed to have no record of my recall registration. She signed me up 2 1/2 weeks ago and I still have not yet received my shipping carton. To add insult to injury I got an email a few days ago notifying me that their records show I am an LCP owner and should follow the link in the email to register for the recall.

I will call them tomorrow and see what is going on. I like the little gun but I have not been carrying it since the recall was posted and I am feeling a little like a red headed step child right about now.
