I just got a slightly used Interarms PPK/S from a friend. He tried trading his gun to several gun show dealers, but they did not appear interested and referred to the recall. I googled the recall topic to learn more. The google search led me to this form and this is my first post.

So I compared the serial number on my pistol to the list and found that my number is formatted differently and was not included on the list. Can I assume that the Interarms versions are not included in this S&W recall?

OR...Is there a similar recall for Interarms pistols?

Can anyone connect me to a link to an owner's manual for the PPK/S? Thanks

Congrats on the new (to you) pistol. There has been some debate on the subject of Interams and other, pre-S&W PPK's and the recall. I don't claim to know the answer but the discussions over at waltherforums.com indicated to me the Interarms versions are not included in the recall. Also, while the possibility exists for an interarms pistol to have a similar problem, it would be for a different reason than the S&W versions. There were also some tests and inspections proposed that could diagnose problems with the hammer block.

Check the following threads. They're kinda long but there is some good information.

That is good news. I sent mine off the same day that you did, so maybe mine will be coming home soon also.

Just received mine today via UPS. Shipped it on Mar26, S&W received it on Mar 31. I have it back today.

Paperwork says:

Repaired: Polish Ramp of bbl.
Repaired: Repair decock level sys.

Nice of them to throw in polishing the ramp!

Good News It Is!

That is good news......That is why I checked here to see if anyone had theirs back yet. It is very good to know they are finally coming back....

I have not as of yet sent mine in.....I did go fire it finally and had no failures it was only 100 rounds but felt and fired very sweetly...I LOVE it.....I also tried to duplicate the problems of it firing by lowering hammer or by using de-cocking device.....Mine did not fire by doing those things. It will however still be sent in.

I will be putting some more rounds through it and sending it in after I pick up a Kahr CW-9 that I just layed away. I had no intentions of buying anything that day.....it was one of those can I hold and see that a minute?......

Dude handed it to me.......It was over.....I am sure many of you have had that feeling. It was the only one they had.....they had just put it out within the hour of me getting there......seems like it was meant to be.

I'll keep checkin here and with S&W as to turn around time and work toward getting the Kahr in my possesion.

Thanks for all the info.....
