I just called today (06/18/2009) to inquire about my PPK which was received by S&W on 04/13/2009 (9 1/2 weeks ago) and was told that they were waiting on another shipment of springs and it would be at least 2-3 more weeks.

S&W may have great service on an individual warranty repair but IMO, their handling of this recall has been less than stellar. A lot of people gave Ruger flack for the SR-9 and LCP recalls, but I had my LCP back in 6 days. I think S&W could take some lessons from Ruger on customer service in handling a recall.

My wife just signed for mine back home. I'll get to check it out and report on it this afternoon. For some reason, they shipped it back via FedEx.

Got mine back with the recall work done, the ramp polished, and a new grip (original black plastic grip had cracked).

For those getting theirs back, please post when you sent it in. It might give the ones still waiting an idea of the time line. Thanks

PPK Recall

I sent my PPK to Smith 3 months ago. I was just told they have not started working on them and they are testing the springs. When they will start who knows.

Mine was sent off in March, right after I got the recall notice. Received it back in June. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 3 months.

S&W received mine the first week in April. I called customer service yesterday to check on the status. CS rep reported they have not started work on any PPK, only the PPK/S so far. They said it would be another 2 - 3 weeks before the PPK's are started. Like I said before, I won't buy another Walther.
