Having smaller hands, myself, I think the Kahr K9 is about the best-fitting, smaller-circumference grip out there. As a single-stack 9mm, it might suit you. It's DAO, but you can get the trigger tuned to be far smoother and lighter than stock. Cylinder & Slide, for example, works on Kahrs and is known for doing exceptional work. Should fit the bill.

If size doesn't matter look at a Barrett 92fs. DA first SA thereafter. Or you can cock it first time for SA. And it has a thumb safety/de-cocker she can use or not use. I have one on my wife's side of the bed. She LOVES it and shoots it well. Only bad thing for a woman is the size of the grips of the 92fs. Kinda large because of the double stack 15 round mag. Go to a local gun shop and let her fondle one...and others. The kick of the 92fs is not noticeable because of the large frame.

I would say the H&K P30 or P2000 both have very slim grips.

As an additional way to rack the slide for someone without a lot of strenght:

Grip the slide in your week hand as if you are going to rack it
Lock arm
Use the strong hand to "push" the gun thus racking the slide

This method takes less effort since it is easier to push than pull.

It's DA/SA, 9mm, made in the USA, and the grip is very small. The trigger, even in DA, is much easier to pull than my SP-101. The 3913 has a good reputation for being dependable and easy to carry.

It is 8+1, but to get higher capacity, it would soon require a double-stack and thus a much thicker grip. Although 8+1 may not seem like a lot compared to some, that is almost double the SP-101's capacity.

I have one, not for sale, but I'd be willing to let her hold and shoot it to see if she likes it. I'll be passing through KS Tuesday early evening if you all are interested in trying it out.
I knew S&W had to make a single stack DA/SA. Will your travels bring you through Wichita? Did I mention she manages one of the better steakhouses in town?

+1...Smaller grip than the P226 since it's a double stack, and the P239 is a single stack. Nothing beats a SIG!

Try S&W M&P 9mm ~ 24oz * 7.5"long * 4.25"barrel * 17rounds * striker fire action (S/A) * trigger pull is 5.5lbs and review states it feels like 3.5lbs * comes with choice of 3 backstraps so you can fit it to your hand size * S&W calls the grip palmswell, got the ergonomics working for it * i am also looking and compiling a list and came up with this as one of my choices to checkout * lol... :>D

Sig P239 9mm

Another vote for the Sig P239 in 9mm. It fits your specification perfectly, and has a smaller grip that suits a woman's hand.
