unless its heavily used you won't find an "inexpensive" glock.

L, I would have to agree down here around where I live you can't touch a Glock under around $500 used or not. At least I haven't seen one.

And I disagree with "you get what you pay for" You don't have to spend $500 + above to get a dependable firearm. I've read allot about failing with the name brands the same as the underdogs.

I have 2 RIA 1911's that cost allot less than the name brands that are 100% reliable and have 1 of the best customer service there is.

But I have always looked for deals in all the stuff I buy , I could care less if it is name brand or not as long as it is dependable and has what I want in it.

I own RIA's , S&W's , Taurus, H&R, Walther, Ruger, Glock, Cobra , and waiting on my Keltec.

Taurus 24/7

I have over 500 rounds through this guy so far, only issue I have had is one hand load it didnt go bang on. Second strike and it did. Just a hard primer

Other than that its happily eaten everything I've fed it. Trigger takes a little getting used to, but the gun fits my hand like very few I have ever held. Got it for $380 out the door tax included.
Mines 45ACP but they are available in 9mm and 40S&W as well

I am sure there are a great many good used guns out there in a lot of different calibers. Just make sure that whichever firearm you consider better make sure you can get ammo that you can get access to easily and affordable.

Just my 2cents.

+1 on the Rock Island 1911. Here's my baby:

It was under 400. at a gun show. 3.5" barrel, over 500 rounds through it, no failures or problems. Solid accurate and reliable. I also have a full sized RIA for under 500.00

A Glock or Springfield Armory xd would be good. Either one in 9mm (hollow points) , .40 cal, or .45 would cost you around $500 and will get the job done.

I prefer the Glock.

You can get them anywhere guns are sold.

Let me add my votes for inexpensive, reliable pistols...

The RIA 1911's; both of mine have been more relaible than both of my former SA and Para 1911's.

EAA Witness

Makarovs

P64

Bersa

Ruger P-series

Taurus wheelguns
