I have one of their ealier models, the telegraph pal, but it is exceptionally bulky, although slightly less then their later model, the ham radio pal.

A big thumbs down. I bought one for a buck. Tried it on once and passed it along. It's been in at least two more hands since I had it. Kinda gross, now that I think of it.

I have two of them, the large and small size. They are relegated to the drawer of unused holsters. Uncomfortable, even with a pistol as small as a Kel-Tec P3AT. For a BUG, I find a pocket holster works much, much better, and for a primary carry piece (such as my 1911), a holster from any of the fine craftsmen who frequent this site will provide a superior method for concealibilty and accessibility.

The best use for the Pager Pal I've heard of is for use as a "file drawer" holster, hanging over one of the file drawer dividers.

IMO, it comes down to this: The more concealable the pistol, the less readily accessible it becomes. Of course, that's a rule of thumb - I'm sure there are exceptions. The trick is for you - subjectively - to determine at what point the pistol becomes too inaccessible for your needs, and then not go below that point in concealability.

My own feeling is that Pager Pals and the like can be eye-catching gagets, but that they are wholly unsuited if you are planning on carrying a defensive handgun for personal protection. If you're going to wear it in the office where you'll have plenty of warning before a postal nut gets to your desk, then sure. But for regular daily carry in the real world, no - not if you plan on being able to react quickly. Pocket carrying in a proper pocket holster provides about as much concealment and a LOT faster access.

Just my $.02 worth.

Best,
Jon
