For the first one I ordered, I paid up front with 100% trust in that person from all the posts I have read about him. BTW, did my money make it to you yet?

At this moment it looks like apathy is in the lead....

Fist. Inc...

Pay when ordering...3-5 weeks delivery every time...a quality product every time...full guarentee...return if not happy...

Not every holster makes does the same. I would not be happy if I paid ahead, and then ended up waiting many months...unless I knew up front and still wanted THAT holster...

I don't care when I pay, although I prefer to pay when I order...then it's done...

I like to pay up front also but what I really dislike about that is when the lead time you are quoted when ordering is completely and grossly out of line from what you were told when you paid for it. I believe that paying up front add's to this delay to an extent meaning, no real hurry cause I'm already paid for it.

So with this I am torn between the two. I will pay up front if an agreed upon lead time is met or within a week or two there after, if not then I wouldn't like to pay up front for something that takes 6 - 24 months to get when the lead times are 8-10 week's when you order. If knowing the actual lead time up front I may elect and have the option to go elsewhere.

2 reasons. First off I don't like to owe. Second I like to have the money out of the way so there are no surprises.

It doesn't really matter to me. I think the maker has the right to designate the payment method.

If You order a Randall Knife they like a deposit in advance then notify you when the knife will be done and request the ballance due, that is their policy and it works.

When I was doing Photography I asked for 50% of fee up front and ballance when photos delivered, the advance was non refundable and was stated in contract. This was done to cover my expenses, I started doing this because I had lost money because people decided they didn't want to pay the agreed price upon delivery.

The problem some makers run into is using your money to buy supplies for another persons order because for some reason they ended up behind. There are many reasons this can happen, when it does the maker would be wise to stop taking orders untill they catch up.

I would want to pay when delivery is close. The reason is, despite many holster company's being conservative & honest with their estimate to delivery, some aren't. I would & have called many times & basically was misled as to when it would be done. It tends to upset me & I basically feel there's no more trust & so, I would rather not do business with them anymore. When you've paid up front, it makes it more of a sticky situation.

I would rather pay up front, but...this being real life & not everyone's exactly up-front about things, it's better to wait till it's close.
