I have a MaxCon V and like it very much. In fact I just ordered one for my G23. (Once that gets in I think I may try one of those new Dakota Defenders from K&D. I seem to like collecting holsters.)

Anyway, the answer to your problem is very easy. Buy both! Then you can figure out which one YOU like the best.

The MaxCon V would be closer to the Watch Six from Milt Sparks than to their VM-II as neither the MCV nor the WS has a reinforced mouthband. I've had and worn the Watch Six and it's a fine holster but I personally prefer the MaxCon V as it's more stable, secure and comfortable - at least for my particular body type.

I haven't had the chance to try Mark's gear yet but he's definitely on my "short list." No matter which of the three makers you choose you'll be getting top quality gear and I think you're making a good decision by going with an offset loop design - there simply ISN'T a more comfortable IWB holster design in my experience.

Buy both holsters? Hmmmmmm, I think I'll just be getting one of them for now....

I'm looking forward to them having the belt loops offset on the holster. I like the way my older Milt Sparks Executive Companion conceals but with the loops and reinforced band right over each other it is to thick. It also was made for my old Colt Commander and not my 3" Kimber, though it holds it tight.

I carry an Ultra CDP in the Max Con V. I wouldn't have it any other way. Gary is a hell of a nice guy who makes IMO the best holster on the market. It is comfortable, and extremely stable and well made. When I buy my next 1911 I will be giving Gary a call for another.

Amen to that. I've gotten to where I won't even consider buying a particular gun unless I know that Gary can make a holster for it ... yes, the MaxCon V is just THAT good.

I know you will enjoy the leather, but the next holster you order needs to be the MAXCON V....I have it for my commander and it is a fantastic holster, very comfortable, thin, and spreads the weight so that all day carry is no problem.....

Well Im torn here....both are world class makers! I know Gary better than Mark, although I have spoken with Mark on the phone at length too! Either way you will enjoy the performance offered by what you get. Shoot well and god bless
