anyone out there ever carried IWB a Smith and Wesson Model 65-2, the 4 inch? I bought one recently and was looking for some grips for it, wondering if it was possible to carry this gun, it is a K frame, somewhat on the heavier side, then I ran across this- a Milt Sparks Versa Max2 for a Model 65! Well, naturally I had to have it, so I did indeed buy it. When I get it I'll see how its going to handle this big ol square butt gun. Here is the sellers pic:



I know theres probably a few of you that carried this gun, probably as a duty gun, but anybody ever do it IWB? Btw, this particular gun I got was from a lot of old trade ins from Texas Dept. of Corrections, has a TDC stamp on it, neat to know the history of the piece!

Great looking revolver holster. How did you "run" into it ? Used? If so good find, as I don't think a whole bunch of those show up used. Let us know how it goes.

I've seen photos of holsters posed near guns, knives, belts, etc. But yours is the first photo I've seen of a holster posed next to a loaf of bread.

Piece of cake!
Your 65 will carry comfortably. I often carry my 3" 66 IWB and sometimes my 27 or 28 in a CABO holster.

John - well I used to carry my M28-2 OWB for some while about three years ago - and managed fine. Not sure I'd want it IWB tho.

Weight was no problem - I am not bothered by weight and size also is really no problem if concealment is easily managed and comfort not compromized. This should work quite well for you I expect.

I had a Model 15-4 with a 4 inch barrel that I IWB and OWB carried for a while. Now my father-in-law carries it daily with no problems.

He could shoot it better than me and I really wanted that 1930 SXS so good trade for both of us!

Howdy!

Yeah, I carried a 4" Bull Barrel M-65 in a Max-Con V for some time. It was a bit heavy, but concealed just fine.
Brownells carries quite an assortment of grips for K-Frames, if you want to go "off the rack". I would also give Lightning Arms a look - they carry Speigle grips, which are as good as it gets.

I have a set on my model 19. Comfortable and controllable. The price is reasonable for Jims Quality. Also the MaxCon V for the K frame would be a great setup. Gary do you do these in a service grade for a 3" k frame?

back in the 70's i carried a s&w model 19 four inch in a bianchi 5b thumbsnap holster. never knew the gun was on my belt. love that type of holster, got one for my colt combat commander also.
