How/where to carry spare mags ?
Hi Guys.
I carry a Kahr P9 24-7 in a tuckable IWB holster. But I don't carry spare mags - yet - and that is about to change. Work clothing is a t-shirt or jersey and jeans. No real cover garment. The Kahr is all but invisible IWB at 3 O'clock. Any suggestions on where and how to carry spare mags ? For the past couple of days I have carried a spare mag in a velcro mag pouch in my left front pocket. Not exactly ideal nor quick to access. Thoughts ? Suggestions ? Links ? Bring it on fellas ! ![]() |

nylon or leather knife/multi tool pouch. I carry my 1911 mag in a back pocket carrier I made myself. (sometimes)

With your clothing setup, I think you either have to go in the pocket (which, as you note, is not exactly fast), inside something innocuous, or IWB. There are a few IWB mag carriers out there (an example from Tucker Gunleather is here. Rocky's knife/leathatherman pouch idea is a good one. I also know some people have had good luck fitting their mags into cellphone pouches (though that could prompt some curiosity if someone observant sees you pulling your cell out of your pocket instead of one on your belt, but since some people do carry more than one cellphone you can probably talk your way out of it).

If your sweatshirt or tee shirt is untucked, a standard belt mounted mag pouch should work fine. If not:
Personally, I am not a fan at all of the "tuckable" concept. However, having said that, whoever made your holster should also offer a "tuckable" mag pouch. Other options would be to use a pocket mag pouch (which is similar to a pocket holster, but for a magazine instead) in the weak hand front pocket (although it will be inaccessable when crouching), or a similar arrangement in your weak hand back pocket. Good luck! |

Several Types...
For either Kimber, Ultra or Pro, (.45), a Galco leather belt mag holder...
For my Glock-36 (.45), a nylon belt mag holder... For my Beretta 9000S (9mm), a plastic (molded) belt mag holder... I now, always carry an extra mag... Stay armed...stay safe! ret ![]()

When i carry IWB, I carry my spare mag in a Brommeland magazine holder and when I carry in my pocket, I use a homemade vinyl, sleevelike mag pouch.
