My First IWB, handmade

This is my first holster. I hand stitched it. It is made to ride at 4:30 with a 20 degree rake.

It is for the Cougar 40 S&W. I still haven't perfected the finish work, but I am really happy how this turned out. I WILL be making more.

Well done!

When does the holster sign go up on the front of the house?

I'm impressed.
How did you get the leather to the perfect shape of the gun details?
(That seems to be the most difficult part.)

I wet the leather with 110 degree water and used a boning tool (piece of plastic). I placed the pistol in a ziplock plastic bag and formed the leather as it dried over the pistol. I have been working leather for a while, but never a holster. Read a few tricks here on the forum. Learned a lot on the first attempt. I am going to try a revolver next time.

If you keep making your own, then I can't sell you any more. What???

Just kidding. If you want some pointers on the edging, etc. give me a call. There are tricks you'd never think of.
