In addition to the comfort factor, most sweat guards made by a quality holster smith for a specific firearm will have an indentation for the safety in the "Safe" position which greatly increases the safety of the gun and helps to preclude inadvertant movement of the safety to the "FIRE" position.

I'm sure everyone's ingrained in you that sweatguards are better. Aside from the comfort issue & guarding the thumb safety, decocker, or whatever else it there, is it makes it easier to re-holster.

You can do it without one, yes, but it's easier, & it's one more barrier from sweat.

Well from a makers stand point....I generally like them when Im carrying..but it really depends on the gun being carried, how sharp edged and large the gun is, my carry location etc.

Some guns like 1911's simply need them most of the time....if your carrying an SP101 then its neither here or there.

There is no right answer.....its just up to you.

Shoot well and god bless.

Leather feels better next to me than the naked top of the pistol does.

I have a sweat on my IWB and like it. Protects the gun from me and me from the gun. I'd go for it.

I prefer a sweat guard as it helps to keep the "sharp" edges of the gun from digging in to me.

I always wear UnderArmor form shirts under my shirt, and still like the sweat guard on my holsters. It keeps the gun from gouging me and helps keep the ambi from digging in me as well. Each body has it's own curves. I typically don't get much rub, as I have a 34" waist and 46" chest so I kind of "V" up. When I had my "extra", it was a different story. I would go with the strap.

until 20 minutes ago I'd only carried without the sweat guard/body shield. I just got my UBG holster with the guard Much more comfortable and I can even wear it under a t-shirt. I'm carrying my CCO.

I want them on all my holsters. I only wear OWB in high rise pancake but I still don't like the gun against my skin. I wear un undershirt along with the sweat flap it is very comfortable for me.
