New Setup
Just picked up my mag carrier from "The Beltman" yesterday. Actually picked it up from Tracy, his assistant and girl friday. A hellva lot better looking and talks nicer too.
This rounds out my ensemable which consist of a belt, holster and an angled mag carrier. The belt is the standard double thickness 2 1/2 inch that you can check out on his website. .The holster is pancake style for a 1911 3 1/2 inch and has a sweat shield. Undoubtably the most comfortable holster that I have ever worn. When mated to the 2 1/2 inch belt it doesn't move, flop, or any other aggervating action that I have had other holste/belt combinations do. He does not advertise the fact that he makes holsters on his website, which is kinda puzzling. I asked him to reverse the angle of mag carrier so that the mag base points to the rear when worn on my left side. He looked at me kinda funny when I requested that modification, but did it anyway. This way I can wear the carrier forward of my hip so I have access to my wallet but without the fear of flashing the mag if my cover garment gets blown back I am fortunate that I only live about 15 minutes from his shop. Jim and Tracy are good people and I would encourage anyone who wants a quality belt, holster, or anything made from leather to contact him. |

Jim is a gentleman and a hell of a leather maker! He's very cordial when talking to other makers and helping them out. He does make holsters...but I think he's so busy making belts that he doesnt want to over extend himself. He does make some very very nice stuff.
Shoot well and god bless

The beltman's belts are truly nice. I have two of his 1.25 inch belts, one cow (or bull) hide and one horse hide. These belts are so nice looking and comfortable to wear that I wear them even when I am not packing, which unfortunately is most of the time because of the firearm restrictions of my employer.
I didn't even know the beltman made holsters. |

I did not know Jim made holsters, or magazine carriers.
Gunney - What was his turn around time on the magazine carrier?

Welllllll, I orginally placed the order the last week in December, which he lost. I checked with him last Friday, he was very sorry and I picked it up this Friday.
He does not advertise the fact that he makes holsters, or mag carriers, or anything other than belts. Says that he barely has time to keep up with his belt orders. BTW, when I re-read my post I realise that I incorrectly stated that the belt size is 2 1/2 inch. It is 1 1/2 inch in width. |

I'll pile on the love fest for the beltman.
http://www.thebeltman.net/ I have three of his 1.25" horse belts - really nice. How about some pics of the holster? |
