Talking Another HBE COM 3 Thread

I was in Miami until yesterday.

When I got home, I was welcomed by this (minus the gun, mag, and flashlight of course):

They are a COM 3 IWB for the HK P7 "Euro," aka "PSP":

and combination magazine/flashlight pouch for double stack magazines and SureFire (SF) 6P-sized flashlights (SIGARMS P229 magazine and SF G2 Nitrolon light shown):

The construction is impeccible...but what else can you expect from Eric Larsen, the craftsman behind these works of art?

The leather you see took a while to get, but Eric's in demand and I wasn't in a rush...I knew I wouldn't be disappointed in the least when I got them, and I'm not.

Eric added a beautiful touch with the exotic leather on front of the COM 3.

While my COM 3 and HK P7 will see limited use due to my agency policy prohibiting off-duty carriage of anything but our duty guns, the combination pouch will be part of my everyday carry kit.

I can't wait to get my next Larsen/HBE acquisition, another COM 3, but for the CZ-75B!

The above leather are my fifth and six pieces of HBE leather I now own.

I also have the following:

COM "2 & 1/2" (prototype COM 3) for Kahr P9,
COM 3 for CZ-40B,
DC Special (another HBE IWB holster design) for Makarov, and
Pocket holster for S&W J-Frame.

If this sounds like I'm an HBE fan....well, I am.

BTW, the only other member leather I own are a beautiful Max Con V for my Dan Wesson 1911 and double mag pouch from Gary B. I need stuff from our other resident leathersmiths!

Hey Eric....what's the exotic leather?

Oh before I forget....and now we dance on Sprockets

I will take photos later of me wearing the stuff.

Well...holy crap guys! I had no idea Id be "Com 3ing" you all to death! My humble apologies..........

Srfl...thanks for the great write up and the exotic is Elephant skin.
It was a scrap I had left over from a whole rig I did for an off duty guy.

I love this forum and hope the leather works well for you.

Shoot well and god bless!

You the man Eric....love the stuff! The elephant is a super touch! I wish I could carry the HK and holster 24/7 (excuse me as I vent because I can't.... ......whew....all better now.) But, I do see some gun games and "around the house" carry for the combo....shoot, I think I'm gonna now have to order a 9mm single stack mag/light combo pouch from you Eric!

Even though Eric makes beautiful mixed material holsters, like the one SRFL just recieved, he also makes some very nice plain jane holsters. I found one here a while back, on his website, in the "in stock" area and had him dye it black for my S&W 65-5. The craftsmanship was remarkable and I hated to see it go when I traded the gun. So I guess I will have to have him make one for my gun I traded for. A CZ75 BD POLICE. I understand he is a CZ owner himself and he started making holsters for himself when others would not. OK Eric, what'cha got that will wow me for my CZ.

tex45acp:

Here is my "plain jane" COM 3 holster for my CZ-40B (right):

The holster on the left is Ron Graham's Blackbird IWB holster ( http://www.grahamholsters.com/iwb.htm ) for my Steyr M-series. It rides much higher than the COM 3. It is a nice holster in its own right.

Anyhow, I expect my upcoming CZ-75B/COM 3 holster will be similar.

Quote "Anyhow, I expect my upcoming CZ-75B/COM 3 holster will be similar." Actually it wont even look the same...theyve gone through that much of an evolution process.

Shoot well and god bless

The Rest of the Elephant

Here's the rest of your elephant, I think. It's a great holster for 10 hours at a time. The backface is bull hide. As you know by now, Eric makes great stuff, and I am lucky enough to live within a 10 minute drive from his shop!

I have a new design for a tuckable from Eric. I'll get some pics of that up when I get a chance.
