Lightbulb Round one...

Well round one is over, we've decided on a Comp Tac settable belt holster. I spoke with JD at Comp Tac and he is going to work up a custom job with a belt mount that is more "woman friendly" and has the speed cut that the normal belt hoslter has. With the custom belt mount and the settable drop and cant that the holster normally has, Lima should be good to go.

It should be at our door in 3 weeks.

No to find her a new IWB....

Most of those are really $$$ for "just the class". IMO, if you don't plan on using it much at all, I would get a cheap one for the class.

But, thats just me (a poor college student) talkin.

Already bought it. Already use it (see picture above), while it takes a longer sweater to conceal it (something that's a little odd in 80 degree weather) and while moving around makes it clearly visible, it's a very nice holster.

If I ever try open carrying I'd do it with this rig. It's extremely comfortable, and the easy access to the gun is fabulous.

I carried most of a yesterday with this holster. I did some practice drawing. I went to the range and got a few looks, but it's okay.

All in all I'm very pleased with my new holster.

For out the door in stock, you cannot beat galco. FIST does make some nice stuff, too. Blade tech is nice stuff too or Fobus, for kydex.

However, I can't think of any safety reason to disallow IWB holsters. Some instructors also prohibit tacticool and IPSC type holsters that aren't really suitable for CCW, but again I can't see how that applies to banning IWB holsters.
I think most "Defensive Handgun Classes" will allow your carry holster to be used. Most even recommend it. However I do know of several "Combat Pistol Classes" that require a strong side straight holster. I guess these classes are a little more offensive combat related than defensive and they want a differant set up.
