Presently I have my leatherman in the pouch it came with on my weak side and just in front of it is my extra mag housed in a pouch that originally came with a cheaper multitool \ leatherman copy.

I'd really like a 3 combo for my Mag, leatherman and flashlight.

Thank you for all the responses

Well,

From what it seems I guess I won't be looking to put anything in front of my spare mag. I'll also take the idea of carrying separate holders for each into consideration. The surefire holder fitting the Z2 head down is pretty sweet looking, I'll stop by my local dealer soon and check it out.

Thanks again for the thoughtful responses as usual.

Take care,

nasm

P.S. any other responses are of course always welcome. Thanks.

I always have a Surefire on my. Personally I use either a SOS from Mitch Rosen or a very close copy made by the folks at Rafter S. Actually I only have one Mitch Rosen and three from Rafter S. That allows me to have one mag and a Surefire 6P or 6Z on my belt. When using my UC Comfort I use my Surefire E2 Executive in one of the pouches.

In addition to my Surefire, I also carry two (yes 2) of the Photon 2 led lights. One around my neck and one on my key chain. Those lil lights are simply wonderful. Once while in a chow hall on a secured base during the Kosovo war, the power went out and I pulled out my little Photon 2 and turned it on hanging from a ceeling fan and it was enough to light up almost the entire chow hall but provided enough light for all of us (about 150 soldiers) to eat easily.

I always carry a flashlight or two for reasons already stated....you never know when/if you will need one.

My Eric Larsen/HBE Leather-made combo pouch is part of my EDC kit:

Del Fatti leather makes a nice, compact carrier for the Z2 - it's basically a band of leather that goes across the narrow part of the light, allowing you to carry it bulb up or down. It's very simple, but works well.

There are 2 different kind of mag/light combo carriers out there that I use. ON duty I wear the Blackhawk CQC "Dual rail accessory platform" in belt loop style on my duty belt (it fits perfectly) with a CQC mag pouch and a CQC flashlight carrier installed - AWESOME pouch! And OFF duty, I use a Galco Cop Series "MFP" which is a mag/light combo paddle. Another AWESOME pouch. Mitch Rosen makes a neat little pouch, as well as Blade-Tech, if you want kydex, and I really like that pouch by Eric Larsen that srfl showed us in his post!

I know I am the exception but I wear a cover vest and I carry my light and my spare mag in the vest pockets. I got all those damn pockets I might as well use them.

Do you wear the vest in the heat of the Summer too? I know Oklahoma Summers can be BRUTAL! Does your attire change in the Summer? If so - what is your Summer attire? How do you carry the mag and light in the Summer?

I've tried a gozillion different mag/light combo carriers and the two I named are the best I've found.

...I am kinda liking that Eric Larsen pouch though...

Glock I broke in my rigs in Boomer Sooner land (you know where I'm from). Yes no matter the temp, I carry the same gear and rig. Good high quality ITP holster with off side mag/flashlight pouch, unless its business environment then you know what I wear.

The only thing summer heat does is make you sweat and you quickly find out if your leather maker did good work if you end up with black dye on your undershirt.

Bring on the heat......i love it hot.

I'd rather stand in a foot of snow than swelter thru another Oklahoma Summer!

E-GAD! Oklahoma in the summer is hotter than the South side of Hell!
