I appreciate all of the suggestions, but I am not going to be able to wear my gun while I work out. I don't see anyway I won't get made. Also, I really don't want to have it on me then. I guess I am looking for something that could be removed without it being obvious that I am taking off a gun. Secondly, I am interested in people's opinion on how responsible it would be to leave a weapon in a locked locker in a public locker room. (I feel the same as 'balin', but am interested in other opinions)

You might consider going straight to a stall in the bathroom to move your gun to your gym bag. Do the same thing on the way out.

So I think a locked locker is safer.
+1. that's how i see it as well.

I really like my Safepacker from www.thewilderness.com.
It does not print, doesn't look like a holster or gun fannypack and you can get a strap to carry it around your neck. It even has a handle so, you can keep it with you anywhere in the gym. Noone has EVER asked me what it is. Great for this kind of situation.

LoveLeather, I don't know about the toddler gyms...I have a five year old and he can take me down anytime with a well placed shot. ;-)

Yea no guns in the locker room. Usually there are combo locks for securing your stuff and they can be shimmed in a manor of seconds. Someone will watch you walk out and then rifle through your stuff.

A person like that would just love to find a gun. Don't even take your wallet in. IMHO

The safepacker even has a space in the front where you can put a IPOD so, if I'm listening to it through earphones, everyone thinks that it's my CD player case and has no clue about the M&P full size 9mm and 35 rounds that is in it. This is a real well made case.

...If your main concern in the gym is to keep the gun near you just to keep tabs on it and not so much for defense while in there, why not just get a non-gun sports fannypack (like for stereos, water bottles, etc) , and just roll the gun( in a small holster) into a small rag or bandana & suff it in the fannypack? ...I see lots of folks w/ generic little packs of different sorts on them at the gym. No one seems to give it a second thought at my gym...YMMV.....
