Both my 1 1/4 and my 1 1/2 works very well for my casual jeans, as well as my dockers.

At first, I was not sure if the 1 1/2 belt would be good for going to work with my dockers, but now I wear that one almost every day.

I reveived my new belt from The Beltman last week. 1 1/2 in. tapers to 1 1/4 at the buckle, lined with velco for my V-Clips. It makes carrying much more comfortable.
