I Have/Use Both Leather and Plastic...

Kydex can be useful and somewhat comfortable for certain carry options...but leather is the most comfortable carry, and usually, my EDC provider...

I am using a Kimber Ultra Carry II. I agree about having two anchor points. And I don't want clips. Yes, I have been told they work, but the Boyscout in me says "Be Prepared", and I want to know that it will not move. It might be over kill, but I'll take the ounce of reliability over a pound of convenience any day. I also like the idea the body shield to help keep the gun from poking to much. I just found thread about the Brommeland Max Con VI. It sounds like a great option, and seems to have the leather body shield I was looking for. I don’t buy cheap. This Kimber is the first auto I have owned (an 8" .44 Mag would be hard to hide), and less than two C-notes from a Grand is not cheap by my views. If it is for you, God bless, your doing better than I.

One IWB point my CCW instructor raised: Get a holster that will allow you to reholster the weapon without difficulty. He recommended Kydex for this reason, although a stiff enough leather scabbard would also work. I already owned a soft suede IWB, and sure enough I couldn't re-holster my pistol worth a darn after the soft leather had collapsed against my body. Just another addition to the "holster drawer..."

Good point about the soft sued holsters for IWB that collapse. Those tend to be El Cheapo specials anyway providing no stability or long term comfort.

My first serious holster was a good named Kydex IWB. It practically wore a raw hole in me. Next I got a leather Brommeland Max Con V and I couldn't believe the difference, from the first minute the MCV was a joy to wear. I hardly knew I had my gun on after a full days wear.

I can endorse the Andrews Mc Daniel II with the slide shield, a very well made & comfortable holster. You can easily adjust the carry angle ( cant ) It is smooth lined, so your gun easily slides in and out, well fitted to your gun, high quality workmanship. I have one for my Kahr K40, love it. The Mc D Crossdraw offers the option to also use the holster in the cross draw position, it has two mounting positions for the belt loop.

I prefer leather to Kydex, just feels more comfortable to me

Sam Andrews is good guy to work with.

I carry a G19 in a CompTac C-Tac. I just got this belt TODAY from The Beltman and love it. It is 1 1/2 in. with a taper to 1 1/4 in at the buckle. It also is lined with velcor for my V-clips. My G19 is completely concealed, even in this tucked white dress shirt. I could not be happier with this rig!

My build allows me to wear a J frame in a CTAC all day long (including 2 1/2 hr car rides) without discomfort.

I also don't find it too uncomfortable against my skin. The flexible leather tabs that connect the clips to the holster allow it to form to the curve of the body, and the rigid part is what encases the equally rigid gun. So I can't see how a similarly constructed leather holster could be more comfortable.

Kydex is thinner and always allows one handed reholstering. Importantly, Kydex allows lightning fast draws with excellent retention. A leather holster that would allow Kydex's draw speed would have almost zero retention.

Leather. Plastic is to hard and does not mold to your body.
