This is just an update on my progress with my version of a leather CTAC. THIS IS BY NO MEANS THE FINAL PRODUCT. This is my prototype that will allow me what needs to be changed/or modified.
![]() ![]() In the above pictures I have place some leather tabs where the straps should go. Even without any boning around the pistol, the fit is tight, but not so tight you have to pull hard. I have came to the conclusion that the holster needs to be shorter as to almost uncover the tip of the pistol. I believe I need to widen the top of the sweat guard and narrow the bottom a little. The dog ear flaps are actaully pretty strong.Needless to say, I am still working out details, but I would like opinions about what everyone is looking for in this type of holster. There will be more to come. Thanks for your comments.

The thing is as you do more you'll get better and gain a lot more understanding of the things you need and whats - what in the custom leather business. Those look very nice for starting out.

I just want to say that I found antgriff's work to be quite good, especially for it being his 1st try at it. That's what amazed me, the one that he said was too thick to carry was his 1st holster. It's a little thick, but still conceals very well.
I have it & gave him a personal evaluation on it. Obviously there were some things to do &/or improve upon, but he did some things incredibley well. If his learning curve increases at a normal rate, his holster are going to be incredible.

As of right now I have 2 styles but as you can see I am working on a few more.
The natural leather holster carrying my 1911 I am charging $65.00 shipped and the the brown leather holster carrying my PT145 I am charging $50.00 shipped. Each of which can be died a color of your choice. I have a limited number of pistols so if I do not have your pistol I will need to get one. So please keep this in mind. My list of pistols goes as such; Beretta 92/92, 4" Kimber 1911, Taurus PT145 and Bersa 380. I do not believe in selling anything that would not carry myself. So, If you do not like the holster when you receive it then I will give your money back if the holster is the shipped back to me undamaged. Please PM me if you are interested and we can talk about details. Thanks for the interest, Antgriff

In regard to your earlier question about the CTAC and why it's so desirable, obviously it works for a lot of reasons, but my impression is (don't own one) that the ADJUSTABILITY to each individual's body and carry style is the primary factor. I do NOT like IWB, but curiosity is about to get to me on that holster. If I wasn't a lefty, I'd have tried one already. Not hard to re-sell CTACs, but harder for portsiders.
Keep us picture posted!
