Your "not recommended" holsters

There are a lot of "good" holster threads here but has anyone bought a "bad" holster that they just won't recommend to others.

The one that did not work for me was the High Noon Hidden Ally. No problem with the glove leather, I actually like that. The problem, for me, was the non stability with a G27 in place. The "tuckable leather tab" to which the clip is attached to just rides all over the place and won't stay put.

Desantis insider--got one for my wife's P232. It's 'ok' for what it is, but I can't recommend it. Holster collapses immediately on draw.

I also had a Hume 715 for my Springer XD...sold it right quick. Again, reholstering was a bear, no body shield...seemed like a "mass production" kind of product. Get what ya pay for, I suppose.

I don't like to black list any products, as what doesn't work for one might be someone else's answered prayer. These are on my my experiences--YMMV.

i had a bladetech UCH for my Glock 30. Once on, the holster would swivel up and down and move all over the place.

the other bladetechs with the straps i have are fine....

The imfamous Pager Pal. (just do a search on this POS)

Fobus Roto Paddle, the adjustment screw came loose and dumped my gun on the floor of the mall...not good.

Any nylon only holster.

Galco NSA II, not very securely attached to belt with just the one J-Hook, wobbles around a bit, impossible to reholster. But did in fact conceal very well.

Glock 'em down
I had a Bianchi "Professional" IWB that took 4 kindergardeners and a crow bar to get the gun back in after drawing it.

Much can depend on intended purpose but overall I do not rate Uncle Mikes a lot ... any ''fabric'' type rig seems a poor compromize, particularly for carry.

Kydex, Fobus etc can do for carry but these days I'd tend to only keep those for range use.

I'd regard those and Uncle Mike's as ''stop-gaps'' if folks waiting on the real thing!

I have an Uncle Mike's Kydex paddle holster that I dearly love, but...like you said - it's for range use ONLY!

I've had several problems with a DeSantis Tuck-This. Like link523 said the hooks don't stay in place.

The worst I've had is the cheap uncle mikes IWB with the plastic clip. The clip isn't strong enough to grip the belt. I bought one to try and use until my Tucker was finished. I ended up using it in my pocket instead.
