Forget the leather. Go with the Comp-Tac C-T.A.C. Great company, great holsters.

My issue with less expensive IWB leather holsters (and some OWB ones) is how well the holster mouth stays open when the gun is drawn. If it collapses, there is a tendency to use the muzzle to squeeze open the holster. In many cases this causes the muzzle to point toward the body as you move it back and forth to force it in - not a good practice.

The alternative is to use two hands; one to hold the holster open and the strong hand to reholster - again, the issue is sweeping your weak hand.

Kydex holsters or more expensive leather holsters stay open and eliminate that issue.

Just my .02.

I've found that trouser size really varies from brand to brand. Usually, one extra size will do quite nicely for my IWB CCW rig. However, what I do now is to wear my rig to the store and take in the trousers into the dressing room and just see what size I need to accomodate my CCW. Works for me

I would say 2 inches too. And as far as WHICH IWB? I'm STILL trying to decide between a Milt Sparks VM2 or a Comp-Tac Infidel!

2" sounds about the norm. I wear a 38 normally and had to buy 40's for IWB.

Currently, I use a tuckable IWB holster, and I have not changed my pant size yet. It is true that at the end of the day, my jeans are a little stretched, but after a washing, they are back to normal!

My suggestion is find the holster that you feel comfortable, and then test it out with your current wardrobe. If they are too tight, take your holster into the store and try on a few pairs!

I wear jeans 99.99 percent of the time and I buy them to fit without the gun....my j-frame always slips in with no problem....and jeans will stretch a bit anyway...unless you wear them tight, your regular size should work fine...it also helps to find the thinnest IWB for your gun that is still molded for decent retention...I use a Del Fatti horsehide with an offset clip sans reinforced collar since I'm not worried about a one hand tactical re-holster...

I am a big proponent of Don Hume for inexpensive good quality leather. I personally wear a PCCH for my GLOCK 23.

Oh by the way its for a Hk usp compact 9mm

You might look at Crossbreed holsters. I have one and love it. It has a large leather shield and a kydex other half. It is tuckable, and very thin because of the kydex.
