I have both.
A VM2 for my Wilson Professional 4". Great holster, very comfortable and extremely well made. The reinforced mouth is a nice touch for one hand reholstering of the 1911. It carries the gun very securely. ![]() I also have the MCV for my 4" XD45. It too is a great holster, very comfortable and extremely well made. It does not have a reinforced mouth, which has not presented a problem with one hand reholstering the XD, since it has a slightly more radiused slide, at the muzzle, than the 1911. The leather is very rigid and the gun literally "snaps' into place when inserted. One thing I really like about this holster is the extension paddle, at the bottom, that helps to keep the holster from kicking out when my larger than normal belly pushes against the grip of the gun. ![]() I have worn them both extensively, for 8-10 hours at a time and I have to give the MCV the edge in comfort, but ever so slightly. This could be because of the way it is shaped to hold the XD as compared to the VM2 shaping for the 1911. I would recommend either for your IWB carry purposes.

I have 3 MCV's and the un-reenforced mouth does not create a problem with reholstering

I have a Max-Con V for my Commander sized 1911. I don't currently own a Milt Sparks, but has seen & handled some (Drawing & holstering).
An earlier poster pretty much said it, the M-C V is thinner & sits lower than the MS V-M. The extra leather strip aids in holstering, but I noticed I can holster mine into the B M-C V one handed, too. Now, that may change as the leather wears out, but for right now, I would definitely give the nod to the Brommeland. It's surprisingly comfortable.

Don't have a VM2 but I know MS has great quality. Gary also makes excellent holsters. Wait is long, but worth it for both. The MCV would not be as much of a wait. I don't know if you can go wrong either way.

Uhhh,... I have a Max Con VI on order with Gary.
That's a MC VI!! Same as the Max Con V, but difference is that it has a re-inforced mouth to aid in one handed reholstering of the weapon. Just made your decision harder, ehh? ![]()

Would it be possible to see a picture of the Max Con VI? I can't find it on his website. Thanks.

Hello all;
I carry a Para 14.45 in a Milt Sparks VMII with a MS belt. For a large 1911, I do not know it is there. The construction is heavy duty. I did get the horse hide and shark skin trim in black. Been almost 3 years now and it looks almost as good as when I received it. JMHO

If you did not know and seen the MCV & MCVI next to each other for the same weapon, you probably wouldn't know the difference. If your interested, call him! He's a pleasure to speak with! Just don't hold him up too long if he's working on my holster. ![]()
