I carried a Kimber Ultra Carry in a MS VMII for 3 days. Never felt comfortable. It was actually pretty painful for all day carry. I'm convinced the this type Holster WOULD NEVER WORK FOR ME. I'm positive my body built had everything to do with it. The reinforced (thicker) opening was just enough to create constant, relentless discomfort. Once again FOR ME.

Thinking the VMII was an inferior design, I then bought an Alessi style (dual side by side loops on the band), reinforced opening IWB holster. Fogetabahdit! This type holster offered squadoosh comfort.

I was so disappointed that I vowed I'd never buy another IWB Holster again. Got rid of the UC and the VMII and the other IWB unit.

Earlier this year I acquired a Detonics CombatMaster and did a lot of research on IWB Holsters and decided to take a chance on Nates (UBG Holsters) Canute for my Detonics CombatMaster. This holster does not have a reinforced opening and has the belt loops fixated rear and forward away from the Main body.

As Gomer Pyle would say..: Surprise, Surprise,...SURPRISE!

The Canute worked very well for me. I was very surprised and pleased with the comfort zone it gives. I was so impressed with the Canute, I recently ordered a Brommeland MaxCon-V.

I know the Brommeland MaxCon-V is going to be a WINNER,..."for me".

If you did not know and seen the MCV & MCVI next to each other for the same weapon, you probably wouldn't know the difference.

If your interested, call him! He's a pleasure to speak with! Just don't hold him up too long if he's working on my holster.
Thanks, Fastball. I think I'll follow your suggestion.

Here's a link to a thread about the Max-Con VI. I believe it has a pic or too as well. Thanks for your interest in my work.

I have read many threads on this forum that state how comfortable the Maxcon V is. I am anxiously awaiting a Maxcon VI for my G23. I knew that it was going to be a long wait when I placed the order, so I don't mind. Everyone says it is worth the wait.

I've owned the Milt Sparks Watch Six for an SA Champion and currently have two MCVs for a 5" Mil-Spec. Between the two companies that's about as close as the models get. The WS was a good holster but in all honesty the MaxCon V blows it away in terms of comfort, stability and refinement.

As far as reinforced mouthbands go, Milt Sparks offers the VMII and Gary has the MaxCon VI. The VMII is tuckable and can be used with kydex clips so if that option's important to you, the VMII is theway to go. I haven't tried a MCVI ... yet but I can tell you that after roughly two years of carry with the MaxCon V I haven't had the first bit of trouble reholstering single handedly.

Milt Sparks has a strong customer base and multiple employees to keep up with demand. They make good holsters so it's hard to make a mistake buying their gear. For me personally, Brommeland's holsters simply work better and are more comfortable doing it, so he gets all my orders.

The trick is finding which maker best suits your individual needs and preferences.
